BMW Apple CarPlay Fullscreen Activation
On iDrive 6 vehicles, Apple CarPlay runs in a restricted portion of the display by default, leaving a large unused border. Fullscreen activation re-codes the head unit so CarPlay uses the whole display area, giving you a proper, modern interface.
It's a coding-only change for vehicles that already have CarPlay, or it can be combined with a CarPlay activation in one session. We confirm your head unit and software version support the full-screen layout before carrying it out.
Windowed CarPlay vs fullscreen
Factory iDrive 6 CarPlay typically opens in a centred window roughly two-thirds of the screen, with your BMW's own interface around it. Fullscreen coding changes the display configuration so CarPlay renders edge to edge — larger maps, bigger buttons and a much better look.
Requirements
Fullscreen CarPlay is a function of the NBT EVO head unit running iDrive 6 with CarPlay already supported. Vehicles on iDrive 5, or cars where CarPlay was never available, are not candidates for this change by coding alone.

Does fullscreen CarPlay work on iDrive 5?
No. The fullscreen layout applies to iDrive 6 (NBT EVO) vehicles. iDrive 5 systems don't support the same CarPlay display configuration.
Can you do fullscreen and CarPlay activation together?
Yes — on a compatible vehicle we can activate CarPlay and set the fullscreen layout in the same session, at the workshop or remotely.
Will a software update remove the fullscreen setting?
A major iDrive software update can potentially reset coding changes. If that happens we can re-apply the setting.
